The Charlie's Choice Story
Charlie's Choice Seasoning was founded in 1980 by Charles White. Since the beginning, Charlie's Choice has been marketed in the southeast with very good acceptance from the consumer. Very high standards of quality are followed with respect to all ingredients used in the manufacturing of Charlie's Choice. Early in 1988, Charlie White sold the business to Charlie Bird, a very close friend of many years. Therefore, a new blending facility was built with the same pride and high standards set by its founder. Charlie Bird successfully managed Charlie's Choice Seasoning for several years with the help of his immediate family. After Charlie Bird's untimely death in 1998, the business was taken over by his son, Charles (Chuck) Bird, Jr. Chuck, and his wife Charlotte, have watched the business grow steadily over the last few years and decided that they needed to expand the manufacturing facility yet again. Therefore, they moved to a new location that had a larger, existing facility that could be altered to their specifications.
After several years of contemplation, two new products were introduced in 2005. Charlie's Choice Sweet & Spicy Barbecue Sauce was put into production after many requests by their customers for a new product. This sauce is an old family recipe that has been held in the Bird family for over 25 years. In late 2005 after a friend suggested that we needed a spicier version of our original steak seasoning, we introduced Charlie's Choice Spicy Blend Seasoning. All of our products are now being sold in stores all over South Georgia and can be shipped anywhere in the United States.
All products in the Charlie's Choice line are manufactured by, managed by, owned by, and held in very high esteem by the Bird family. They feel that their image is portrayed by their label and they are very proud of Charlie's Choice products.
